Find Balance by Listening to Your Inner Self

By Guest Blogger Heidi Rose, Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative Janesville, WI

This year I have felt as if I have been riding on a never-ending roller coaster. I started my business with Northwestern Mutual, moved back to my hometown, among countless other challenges. I was in a bit of a “funk” in the spring of this year, frustrated with my health and myself in general. After working very limited hours for several months, my business was failing. I found myself in very unfamiliar territory.

In May, I was invited to attend Alissa’s “Unleash Your Practice” workshop. I contemplated whether I should go or not just because I have missed so many days of work already. I decided to go and I am glad I did. We spent the next few days learning about how to make the business fun, but most of all, how to be ourselves. I was struggling with the language which gave me anxiety. Learning that by being myself and keeping my anxiety low, my clients and potential clients will feel that as well. In so many ways I learned that I need to trust my body—the “gut feelings,” take care of myself and set boundaries. By doing this, I have made the changes I needed to in my practice and am starting to roll! I know that I am doing what I am supposed to and have found my path.

In addition to this, my health and personal life have been impacted as well. I am my number one priority for the first time in my life. I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I now concentrate on what my body is telling me every day. I make the time I need to for me. By following Alissa’s advice and exercises I have been able to limit my medication and take my life back.

Life changing. Well worth it. I love her for saving me on so many levels.
